RIGGER

They work in the shadows.

"They're like bats. Figures working in packs, in the shadows, perched tens of metres above the sky on pylons a handful of centimetres wide that move in fluidity regardless of danger, suspended in mid-air in the face of fear"

(Cinzia Negherbon)

The Riggers are technicians specialized in setting up concert structures, climbers who perform the most extreme operations working at heights as high as 80 meters above the ground.

The Riggers are responsible for the suspended loads, they are in charge of fixing the electric winches that will support the speakers for the amplification, the lights, the video screens.

It’s a spectacular work that creates a strong sense of belonging because of its unique nature, source of a somewhat ancestral pride that makes them feel like part of one big family.
They work in the shadows, but without them there would be no concert. Peter Gabriel was one of the few artists to pay homage to them in “Still growing up”, a documentary filmed during a tour, in which he also shows the stages of setting up a stage.
